Each Week Elleinadspir, A Place to Share and I will be working our way through the Listography 2011 Book with a rotating Link Part-tay! To find the list of the years topics, check out the Listography Link above.
Today’s Topic: List what issues are foremost on your mind
Oh my, where to start? On the mundane front I’m thinking about the time-change(so sleepy after 5 pm), seeding my lawn, car financing options, how cold it is suddenly and the best way to refinance our mortgage. Ocasionally I interrupt this boring stuff to think about cheese or tacos.
Mostly though I’ve been thinking about Elian’s upcoming baptism. I’ve been thinking about what food to prep for our friends and family, cleaning the house and what information who needs at what time. Even more important though I’ve been thinking about what it means to baptize a child and what it means to be a parent. I’ve been (attempting) to reorganize my priorities to concentrate on the bigger picture and let go of my crazy ocd grip on the details. A clean and organized house might be important to me but it pales in comparison to cleaning house in my overcrowded heart.
So that’s what’s on my mind. I would like to know what everybody else is thinking about? Eggplant? Twilight? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? Do tell. Danielle’s go the link or you can share in the comments.
Ready, set, go!
It is funny how we all are thinking about the same thing …. a clean house. Is it ever clean enough ? Everyday it is a battle it seems. There are those trying to keep it clean and those who don’t care :) Being detail oriented sometimes is a burden. I am thinking I need to read a few Erma Bombeck books. Right now I am thinking about buying a new car, thanksgiving and work work work.
I agree being detail oriented is both a blessing and a curse.
As much as I TRY to put a positive spin on it… to “nurture my space”… house cleaning will FOREVER remain a thorn in my side. Always a “foremost issue” – especially when guests are headed our way.
I think big picture thinking needs to be my new years resolution for sure.
