Each Week Elleinadspir, A Place to Share and I will be working our way through the Listography 2011 Book with a rotating Link Part-tay! To find the list of the years topics, check out the Listography Link above.
Today’s Topic: List who you thought was the coolest growing up
You know those people who are down on everyone around them? This one too smelly, that one talks too much, etc etc. I am the opposite of that person. I naively and unreservedly believe that people are kind-hearted inside or at least want to be. As a consequence I think everyone is cool. Somehow, someway, you are cool!
Given my sunny if perhaps slightly dimwitted disposition there were a lot of people who I thought were the coolest growing up but the tried and true cool kids were:
- My Aunt Pam who drove a badass white convertible
- My older cousin Sage who introduced me to U2 and NPR
- My BFF Malia who taught me about music videos, Janet Jackson and most importantly the New Kids on the Block
- Paula Abdul-She danced with a cartoon cat. Modern.
I could go on for.ever with this list but I fear that I would start treading into some scary territory. At some point former UN Secretary General Boutrous Boutrous Ghali almost made my list. Yikes.
If you’d like to join in our little online list book club you can link up over at Torrie’s. Otherwise let me know who you looked up to in the comments!
i love when posts get me all nostalgic…thinking about NKOTB and Kirk Cameron!
keep hangin tough. ;)
It’s a good place to be. :)
What an honor to be included in this list, even if alongside Paula Abdul’s crazy cat! Thanks, Em. I’ll have to plan some sort of celebration with Pam before the year is out. You’re pretty cool too by the way.
XO
I’ll see if I can arrange to have MC Scat attend too. ;)
Hmmmm. Missing the reference = not as cool as you thought?
Or perhaps, more cool? MC Skat is the name of Paula Abdul’s cartoon cat.
I’m with ya on this. I truly think everyone is cool in their own way.
