List Your Favorite Artists

Wow, this is another one where I could just go on forever and ever. In the spirit of brevity I’ll try to hold myself back to one per category.

1. Photographer-Richard Avedon: I feel like he knows how to capture what is beneath people.

2. Poet-e.e. cummings. So spare and clean.

3. Music-Shakira-I love pop music and she’s always original. :) I’ll cheat and put Kanye West in here too.

4. Director -Jean-Pierre Jeunet: Amelie is just so beautiful in every way. My second pick would Alfonso Cuaron. I still love Prisoner of Azkaban the best of all the Harry Potter movies. The visual metaphors are fantastic.

5. Painter-I have a zillion favorite painters but here is one piece that always stands out to me. I first saw it at the Smithsonian and have always felt an affinity towards Ms. Jane.
