In the short time we’ve been with Elian we’ve seen him grow so much. Physically and also in what he can do. Climb stairs, say more words, eat without shoving stuff up his nose… it’s miraculous really. Everyday he finds a new way to endanger himself! Aw the miracle that is toddlerhood.
Even though our days can be exhausting we’re trying to do our best to remember that he’s growing up fast and each day is a moment to be treasured. Here are some more of the diamonds in the rough from our first week home in Sacramento.

Arnold is very serious about his morning ritual of almond butter and toast. Elian is very serious about smearing peanutbutter all over the table. I am very serious about loving his fleece peacoat.

Elian gets all teacher-bossy about education in Daddy's classroom. I believe it is the peacoat's influence.

Arnold told Carmen "It's time to learn to use the internet." Elian of course was on hand to assist by posing for pictures while everybody else concentrates.

I was sincere about my commitment to introducing Elian to Mexican food. Here he is perplexed by his first tortilla chip. Or maybe he's just stressed out watching the Super Bowl. Hard to know what he's thinking seeing as he mostly speaks what sounds like Japanese.

Don't worry though. He caught on right away to the wonder that is any tortilla-based food. Kudos to Papa Perez for capturing this shot.

almond butter, peacoats, Mexican food… what is there not to love in this post?
