It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

I’m on the Mr. Rodgers quote a month mailing list.  Yup.  True story.  I think he’s great.  I loved his calming Grandpa presence as a kid.  It’s so different than the loud crazy kid stuff that’s on TV all the time now.  Before he died I read a 5 page GQ story on him.  Did you know he was  Presbyterian minister and his sole goal with his show was to ensure that all children knew that they were loved and special?  He also took a picture with every reporter that ever interviewed him and afterwards would send them a picture with a thank you note.  I aspire to be that kind of person:  thoughtful and kindl.  Since we’re too old for Mr. Rodgers now, here’s your monthly quote:

Transitions are almost always signs of growth, but they can bring feelings of loss. To get somewhere new, we may have to leave somewhere else behind. – Fred Rodgers

  1. Just getting caught up. I LOVED Mr. Rogers as a kid and I cried when he died. His book of quotes is one of my favorites and I can not read through it without getting weapy.
